YPSILANTI, MI – The skies above Willow Run Airport got here alive Saturday with the roaring engines of army plane each outdated and new.
Thunder over Michigan – the state’s largest airshow – hosted a sold-out crowd of drive-in friends for each morning and afternoon reveals. The brand new format changed the standard walk-in present, which was canceled in 2020 as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
For the primary time in state historical past, both the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration teams performed at the same show.
The Blue Angels headlined the morning present with their new FA-18 Tremendous Hornet plane, which changed the smaller “legacy” Hornet plane for the 2021 season.
